Tom Clarkâs research focuses on the political economy of legal and judicial institutions. He studies American political institutions, the judicial system, criminal justice and policing. He also has research interests in applied formal theory and methodology.
Before coming to the University of Chicago, he was the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Political Science at Emory University. He has also held visiting appointments at Stanford University, Princeton University, and the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse. He received his PhD and MA from Princeton University and his BA from Rutgers University.
